Our Story
In 2021, a group of like-minded individuals felt a deep calling to reach the unique community of The Tribute with a shared love for faith, food, and fun. They soon realized that God had brought them together for a greater purpose, recognizing the potential for an authentic faith community to flourish within this distinctive peninsula. The first gathering took place during Easter week at Waterford Point’s Amenity Center, marked by a message of hope in Christ, communion, and the sound of bagpipes. It was then that 'the Kirk' was born—a name inspired by the old Scottish term for church, perfectly suited for this special place.
The Kirk began holding monthly meetings at Old American’s Clubhouse during its first year and eventually moved to The Tribute Club House.
Now, guided by a larger leadership team, the Kirk is driven by a shared mission: to cultivate a Christian faith community within The Tribute. Their vision is to see friends follow Jesus, growing together and loving others, united by core values of Authenticity, Integrity, Generosity, and Inclusivity. They prioritize praying, eating, growing, and sharing together, following the model in Acts 2:41-47.
Comprising of believers from various Christian traditions, this Bible-centered community is united by their shared focus on Jesus Christ. The Kirk warmly invites others to join in this journey of discipleship. The community gathers on the 2nd Thursday of every month for worship, to explore God's word, and to enjoy fellowship—always accompanied by good food and great fun.
